"Amy is an incredible trainer and has helped us so much with our boy. We have worked with many trainers and behaviorists in the past, but struggled to keep up with the practice once training was finished. Amy has given us tools to integrate his practice into our daily routine - setting all of us up for success. Our pup has some challenging health concerns - Amy has been fantastic at listening to his limitations and adjusting based on what is safe for him. "We decided to get a dog during Covid from Animal Care and Control. We knew that our dog would need training to adjust to our home and our cat. We did Amy's puppy package for training and gained so much value! Within four months, our animals were able to coexist peacefully in our household and get along. No more fighting!!! Thank you Amy!! "I cannot speak highly enough of Free Will Animal Training. My husband and I adopted our first dog (two years ago--I'm very late in writing this review!) and found that we needed professional assistance fairly quickly. Our dog is a Belgian Malinois mix with high intelligence and mental stimulation needs. He also is very neurotic and, as a puppy, had severe separation anxiety. Amy Blom worked with us to help us find a balance that works for us and our dog. Amy provided extensive education for us as dog parents and demonstrated the best ways to help us cultivate a happy, healthy and trusting relationship with our dog. Two years later, we get compliments on how well behaved our dog is and what a wonderful demeanor he has all the time; I am quite certain we owe a great deal of that to Amy's excellent guidance. Many people believe that the only way to handle a dog with high energy/intelligence/drive is to use positive punishment. Our dog is proof that, instead, working to understand and meet his needs while also finding a way to adapt those behaviors is the best way forward. In sum, hire Free Will Training. She always includes tons of articles and videos backing up what she recommends and providing concrete examples for us to follow with our pets. "I started with Emily at Free Will initially to work on basic leash training, annd initial dog training things. He got SO much better with all the positive tools she provided! I took those and ran and he made so much progress. Few months later he started to have some “stranger danger” and I contacted Emily again to get back on track. She immediately came in to help us, got us back on track and has given us many goals and options to get to where me and my dog are comfortable. I am so grateful for her. Having a rescue that is just scared and needs understanding is what I needed and that’s what I have gotten 100%.
