If you are struggling with behavior problems with your pet, we have practical, effective solutions for you. You receive the same expert training and support from our multi-credentialed behavior experts you receive in-person. This is still hands-on training, but the hands are yours with our expert coaching.
If you want to outsource the training of your pet, this is not for you. That's not how behavior modification works. We focus on your learning of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to give your pet their best life while learning how to understand and communicate with them. We help your pet learn to cope with their world and offer various adaptive behaviors. We have already supported families in 11 states with over 1000 hours of remote learning, it really does work!
We use simple technology - your smartphone, tablet, or laptop - and easy programs (Google Meet - free to you) to be there with you and your dog during counseling and training sessions. This allows us to see what’s happening and guide the training protocols, no matter where you live or what hours your work schedule leaves available for training. We can even record the lessons for you to play back in the future! If you are a techie you’re going to love the way we work. But if gadgets aren’t your thing, don’t worry—we’ll keep it simple. If you can dial a phone and start up your computer, we can help bring training to you and your pets. We can even go on location with you in the future, just bring your smartphone!
Work with qualified behavior experts. Remote training means access to our expert team no matter where you live. We support families in all states, you aren't limited to the 20 mile radius from downtown Charlotte, NC!
Schedule training-time that works for you. Working remotely allows us to work across time zones and to accommodate your busy schedule.
Maintain your privacy and routine. No home visits means no need to rush home after work to straighten up, and no extra pressures added to your week. Plus, many of the pets we support are nervous of having new humans in their house - we won't cause them any anxiety this way!
Get the best possible results. Working with the behavior experts and avoiding the “trainer effect” provides the best possible results in the most expedient amount of time.
During the New Client Counseling Session we will:
Conduct a thorough history of your pet(s), lifestyle, routine, behavioral history, medical concerns, previous training experiences, prioritized your goals, and design a treatment plan together.
We will have already done our homework reviewing the in-depth New Client Questionnaire you complete prior to this first session. This will save you time during this session, and allow us to progress further in our review.
This is your first training lesson! We will have an educational discussion on your amazing pet and present material on learning and behavior modification, canine/feline behavior and stress, with a focus on 'what can I do right now?' to reduce the overall stress of your pet(s) and their environment. We will address the balance of physical and mental exercise and enrichment, learn more about their body language and what they are communicating throughout the day, and help you start to recognize the micro polite communications they are giving you before the macro problem issue(s) present themselves.
Review any video footage you may have of your pet (it does not need to be of the concerns you have, and we do not want you to set your pet up to react just to capture a video - we believe you!)
Listen to your goals, prioritized for safety, and deliver a customized, written treatment plan that includes behavioral and environmental modification, management and training recommendations.
Follow up appointments may be recommended to provide you with continued learning and support. Please understand learning and behavior modification happens over time, and is a dynamic process. We'll reassess the progress, approach and pace each coaching session.
We are happy to work in conjunction with your Veterinarian or Veterinary Behaviorist and other team members (groomer, sitter, walker, etc.) to provide the greatest success for your dog or cat during the behavior modification process.
